We work with all the major technology providers of solar panel technology. We’ll base your technology needs on how much electricity you consume and what we think you can generate. As we’re independent of any technology provider, we provide a range of unbiased quotes and technologies for you, based on your actual needs.

Solar panels can be placed anywhere that is free from shading and south-facing. Typically, homeowners place solar panels on their roof, but they can also be placed on flat-roof garages, extensions and on open land too.

The length of the warranty differs by technology and system. Solar panels are generally guaranteed for 25 years on performance. Some systems, such as those provided by Sunpower are guaranteed for 25 years, included product, technical issues and performance.

There are 4 main factors that will impact the efficiency of your solar panels. When running our analysis, we’ll look at how much sunlight your property receives, the direction your property faces, the shading around your property and the angle of your roof. The amount of sunlight, the angle of your panels and the direction your panels face ultimately determine how much electricity you’ll be able to generate.

The electricity you generate and store in your battery storage system replaces the electricity you take from the grid. The electricity can be used in the same way as a normal, non-solar home does, but your meter will not go up. Whether you’re charging an electric car, using your dishwasher or watching television, you’ll be using the electricity you have generated for free, emission free.

Prices range depending on the system size in kWh, the number of panels you install, whether you include a battery storage system and the type of technology you install. The only maintenance we recommend is to simply wipe your solar panels clean once per year to ensure they are as efficient as possible.

Whilst we work independently of any solar panel installers partners, the installers we recommend are fully accredited with MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) and extensively vetted by our energy assessment team.

kWh stands for kilowatt hours. It’s used as a measure of energy usage. It’s a measurement that equals the amount of energy needed to power an appliance at 1,000 watts for one hour. For example, a kettle uses about 0.11 kWh when boiling a litre of water.
